DTN Early Word Grains 03/27 05:42 Grain Markets Mixed to Begin Week After Sharp Correction Friday May corn is down 3 cents, May soybeans are up 1 cent and May KC wheat is down 6 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is down 3 cents, May soybeans are up 1 cent and May KC wheat is down 6 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: After last week's volatility, markets are quieter and modestly higher to start the week. Between government intervention and private market takeovers, the world's banking system feels a little more stable than it did last week. This helped equity markets rebound on Friday and so far, Monday morning. It will be a slower week for economic reports, with the Case-Shiller home price index on Tuesday, weekly jobless claims on Thursday, and a number of personal consumer reports on Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 132.28 at 32237.53 and the S&P 500 Index up 22.27 at 3,970.99. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.38%. Early Monday, June Dow Jones futures are up 154 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.84%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.42% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.10%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.33% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.04%.
